C8/80/15 galvanised stock fencing is suitable for sheep, pig and livestock. This is the most popular type of agricultural wire netting supplied in the UK market.

Exceeding British Standards BSEN10244, the XTREME reinforced coating provides a protection that lasts 3-4 times longer than commercially galvanised stock fence.  Steel starts to rust when in contact with oxygen and air humidity but the XTREME reinforced coating protects it against corrosion due to oxidation, which is superior to traditional galvanisation.

Be aware of inferior products marketed, some claim to be C8-80-15 but they are actually of a thinner wire which is only L8-80-15, or they only have a 40grm galvanised coating (commercial galvanised) instead of the British standard required min 230grm, neither of which are suitable for the UK climate.

  • Suitable for: Sheep, pigs and cows
  • Overall height: 80cm / 800mm
  • No. of line wires: 8
  • Distance between vertical wires: 15cm / 150mm
  • Distance between horizontal wires: Variable (see product image for mesh pattern)
  • Wire gauge: 3.15mm top/bottom wire, 2.5mm infills
  • Knot type: Hinge joint
  • Features XTREME reinforced coating, a protection that lasts 3-4 times longer than commercially galvanised stock fence

Staples are the most popularly used fixing, used for fixing various gauges of fencing wire and netting to timber stakes and other wooden surfaces.

McVeigh Parker supply the unique indented staple in their standard staple range. The indented staple offers unrivalled holding when compared to other smooth wire staples.

These staples have sharp pointed opposing cuts on the feet (slice cut) which give additional holding power by twisting the staple in opposite direction when driven in.

Manufactured from heavy galvanised wire for long life.

Sweet Chestnut has been used mainly in the south eastern counties for hundreds of years. It is a naturally tough and long lasting wood and does not require any form of chemical treatment. It comes from managed coppice rotation, encouraging good woodland management. Therefore it is one of the most environmentally friendly long lasting fencing materials available. Chestnut posts are rustic in appearance.

UC4 is what we commonly sell and would highly recommend for any in ground contact installation. Sometimes referred to as HC4, Use Class 4 or "UC4" is the standard of treatment required for timber which will be used directly in the ground as determined by BS EN 335-1.

All our timber stakes and strainers are responsible sourced from the forests throughout Europe. This includes slow grown Redwoods which when treated to our Use Class 4 standards give excellent results, even in the most challenging of environments. All the forests are responsibly managed and replanted after harvesting in line with FSC guidelines.

We have a wide range of fencing posts and stakes available in a range of lengths, diameters and timber. We also have a range of posts and rails available which are commonly used for post and rail fencing.

For more information on the different types of timber available, read our quick guide to choosing the right timber .

We remind customers that wood is a natural ‘living' material and this means it is affected by atmospheric and ground conditions, due to the fact that it is not evenly porous, it may dry at an uneven rate. This can create pressure inside the wood potentially causing it to split, warp or twist when its exposed to the atmosphere and sunlight. Pressure treated wood will contract as the water used in the process evaporates from the timber. Natural weathering should not weaken or decrease the life expectancy of the wood. Using dark stain or other coatings will increase U.V. absorption and speed up the drying process. Using sealant or oils will help hold moisture in and lets the timber dry at a slower rate.
